DEA to Schedule Kratom on September 30th

The DEA is trying to make Kratom Schedule I using “emergency scheduling”, so that it will be illegal after September 30th.

Time is running out! Countdown until September 30th

deaThe U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is moving to place the herbal supplement kratom on its list of Schedule I drugs, effectively banning a naturally occurring psychoactive substance that some say holds promise as a therapy for opioid addiction. The DEA this week, said it wants to include kratom in its most restrictive classification of drugs with high potential for abuse and no known medical benefit, signaling that the government considers the plant as dangerous as heroin. The scheduling move would last for two years, with a possible extension of an additional year, and would go into effect at the end of September.

What is Kratom?

what-is-kratom(from the American Kratom association) Kratom is a natural botanical native to tropical Southeast Asia that is part of the coffee family. It’s also known by its scientific name, Mitragyna speciosa. The people of Southeast Asia have used Kratom leaves as an herbal supplement and traditional remedy for hundreds of years. When taken in appropriate amounts, Kratom can provide increased energy, minor pain relief and many find relief from a variety of other mental and physical ailments. Today, people in the U.S. are consuming Kratom, as they do other herbal supplements and traditional remedies.

What You Can Do.

We cannot allow the DEA to continue using its authority to push these “emergency scheduling” orders unchecked. To make Kratom illegal would be another plant with obvious health and medical benefits the public is denied access to. The pharmaceutical companies want to get Kratom out of the picture so they can continue to push their questionable and even deadly Pain Killers and anti-depressants to the public.

Time is running out, fortunately there are things that we can do in the meantime to try and stop this from happening.

Contact as many mass media outlets / hosts as you can and ask for their support.

  • Call in to radio shows and bring up the Kratom ban, it is easier to get on air than you think.
  • Ask public officials for support.
  • Direct tweets to public figures and famous people asking for support.
  • Relentlessly comment on the DEAs “we care about overdose rates” articfles it commonly releases.
  • Tell everyone you know, ask them to sign the petition at least.

DEA Whistleblowing

It’s about time that the Kratom community exercises our rights and voices all our concerns. No time to play nice. We want to put the spotlight on the suspicious behavior that we’ve ALL felt surrounding the “emergency scheduling” of Kratom.

Here’s where the Whistle-blowing comes in

The DEA has long been fueling the increasingly futile and pointless War on Drugs. Banning Kratom is just another path that the DEA are carving out that will inevitably make things worse for all Americans.

So here’s what we need to do:

Here it is:

1. Use our Letter Template to Contact Chairman Chaffetz
Copy our pre-made letter —> click HERE

2. Send under “Details” to the Government Whistleblower link
Add our letter and any other points of your own under the “Details’ section of the Whistleblower LINK

Our letter is effectively requesting the DEA for a delay on the Emergency Scheduling of Kratom. Because despite all of the factual evidence, the DEA still seems to be willfully ignorant of the ramifications that this ban will have, not just on the Kratom community but on the War on Drugs and all Americans.

Do you use Kratom? Let everyone know how this awesome natural supplement benefits you in the comments below.

Also please let us know in the comments below if you have any other suggestions on what we can do to stop this move by the DEA.

  1. This herbal supplement kratom has helped me quit drinking after several years of it. I have not had a drop of alcohol in a year and a half and can tell you with a doubt the alcohol was killing me, now my blood pressure is normal and I have lost twenty five pounds and I’m happy! This is naturally growing plant that God has given us for our use and should we should not be forbidden by any agency. Is this the home of the the free and the brave or home of bans and regulations. What would George Washington say? Permit and tax alcohol which is truly killing people and tell me I can not use a natural plant that improves my quality of life, enough already!!

  2. At age 16, I dislocated my left shoulder and was left with crippling pain, which my doctor treated with Vicodin. I quickly became addicted to my pain pills, but instead of recognizing my addiction, my doctor prescribed me Oxycodone.

By the end of junior year, in high school, I was failing all my classes and skipping school to snort my pain medication. My addiction only got worse when I was diagnosed with severe lupus, and I began having anxiety attacks and episodes of severe, crushing chest pain. On May 12th, 2014, I attempted suicide by swallowing my pain pills. The depression, anxiety, shame, physical and emotional pain had become too much.

The summer after junior year, I discovered kratom. It relieved my anxiety and allowed me to tell my parents what had been going on. They now support kratom too. Thanks to kratom I have been able to attend a university on (almost) full-ride scholarship and live a normal day to day life. Kratom saves lives. Kratom stops addiction and withdrawal. Kratom relieves pain, depression and anxiety. I would still be addicted to pain medication if it weren’t for kratom. Please keep this plant legal. Nobody has ever overdosed from kratom alone. The only deaths that have occurred with kratom happened when it was used in combination with other, more dangerous drugs like 0-desmethyltramadol, which will still be legal after this preposterous ban.

  3. I suffer from DDD, herniated discs in my neck with bone spurs, dehydrated bulging discs in my lower back with a fractor, severe nerve root lesions, migraines, fybro, and crippling sciatica! When faced with all of this pain I am sometmes bedridden for days at a time! I am not able to perform any activities on a normal level and this causes depression! I became addicted to pain meds and eventually began abusing them! I went to the methadone clinic only to become addicted to another substance and began abusing that! I stopped cold turkey and thought I was on my death bed for about 6 weeks! I started drinking heavily and eventually went back to the pills! My pain, addiction, and depression have caused a constant battle for most of my adult life! Until I found Kratom! Kratom has given me my life back! I no longer have any desire to drink or take pills, I am able to function and perform my daily tasks pain free and happy! I never thought this was possible! Just when my life is getting back to normal the DEA wants to pull the rug out from under my feet?? I am mad but more than anything I am scared for my life!

  4. I use Kratom to treat my MS pain. I have ZERO side effects from it and I’m able to function normally with it! I’ve never been “high” nor been/felt out of it like pharmaceutical pain medications cause! I absolutely do NOT want to go on pharmaceutical opioids! There is already a HUGE epidemic from that garbage! Many people have successfully used Kratom to get off of pharmaceutical opioids and even got them off of heroin! If this harmless herb is banned we are going to see this epidemic that’s already a HUGE problem skyrocket over night! We have already lost way too many people to this crisis, We can’t afford to lose one more life to this!
